WE PROVIDE: All rafting equipment, wetsuits and water.

TOUR DESCRIPTION: The Glacier River makes its way from the glaciers to the fjord, passing by the picturesque Jostedal Camping, our starting point. We put the rafts in the river here and jump in after them to test the temperature. Anyone who thinks the water is warm at this point, can be given a straight-jacket, rather than a life-vest, with their paddle.
As we make our way downstream, we pass through canyons and below fantastic mountain scenery as we negotiate wild water rapids.
The volume of the river flow in Jostedal doesn't follow regular Norwegian river patterns. Here early in the season the water is snow-melt, crystal clear and of average volume. As the season progresses the water comes directly from melting glaciers, and so is full of sediment (very finely ground rock powder), very lacking in warmth and high volume.
