WE PROVIDE: All kayaking and glacier hiking equipment.

Styggevatnet is at an altitude of 1200m, surrounded by the desolate plateau mountains of the icecap.

We begin the tour with a 1,5 hour paddle to Austdalsbreen (Glacier) with its 25-50m high terminal that descends into the lake from the Jostedalsbreen Icecap above. Towers of ice calving into the lake from the glacier front will captivate you after kayaking around icebergs to get to this most remote and untouched area.

With the kayaks safely on the hillside, we walk up to the front of the glacier for lunch. This is your chance to relax, ask questions, take photos, eat, while the glacier gets ready for its next calving!

After the break we put on crampons harnesses and a rope for a completely unique glacier hike. An easy walk amongst a myriad of crevasses across the front of the glacier will top your day, completing the experience of kayaking up to, sitting in front of and standing on top of this natural wonder.

Reality will eventually hit, and it's time to kayak back to civilisation, taking with you a unique and impressing day of glacier lake kayaking.
