WHAT TO EXPECT
YOU ARE ONE OF “THOSE” TYPES, AREN’T YOU – JUST HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING. WELL, HERE YOU GO…
Start the tour with the 3 ziplines of “Midgard”, over the raging glacier river. Then watch as your raft is sent along the next 2 ziplines before you! We fly beside the canyon walls on the 4th zipline and then for a little contrast we connect into the 2nd zip line and race between the forest trees for 100m.
Once you have taken the zip line equipment off, put on a life jacket for your rafting trip. The rafting starts in the most fantastic, quiet, area of Jostedalen. The contrast from the raging canyon above is marked. We raft through the end of the canyon, finding some fun in a wave or two to get the river juices flowing.
The scenery opens out to show Bergsetbreen glacier in the distance. We then follow the river into the whitewater Elvepurka section.
There is a four-person minimum for this trip. If you are less than 4 people, we can include you on trips with others, of course.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No previous rafting experience is required, and you do not need to be able to swim.
You will wear a flotation device (life jacket), and your guide will provide clear instructions before and during the trip. As long as you follow those instructions, you can expect a safe and enjoyable experience. -
We provide all technical equipment: wetsuit, wetsuit jacket, neoprene booties, life jacket and helmet.
On colder days, it is a good idea to bring wool layers (wool top, trousers and socks) to wear under the wetsuit. Please avoid cotton clothing, as it does not keep you warm when wet. Swimwear or underwear under the wetsuit is perfect.
If you wear glasses, that is no problem. We sell RiverPig glasses straps before the tour if you would like extra security. Please note that wearing glasses is at your own risk. -
Rafting is actually one of the best activities in bad weather. You will be wearing a wetsuit, so getting wet is part of the experience. Rain rarely affects the quality of the trip — sometimes it even adds to the atmosphere.
If conditions are unsafe due to extreme river levels, we will reschedule, offer alternatives, or provide a full refund if you prefer. -
The rafting section from the ziplines begins above the Little Piggies family section. This is ideal for families with children under 12 years, beginners and anyone wanting a fun introduction to rafting.
The ODIN tour continues downstream with bigger waves and more excitement. As the river builds gradually, it is possible for guests to step out before the more challenging sections if needed. The guide always has the final decision based on river conditions and group suitability.
For families with children both under and over the age limit for ODIN, there are flexible options available. Please contact us and we will help you choose the best solution for your group.
